  • Senior Pic & Why Mommy is Grumpy

I decided to roll two blogs into one so that I'm not clogging up feeds with back-to-back posts. So! I'm stealing this idear from @amateurprose who stole his idea from someone else. I never took actual senior pictures because, unfortunately, at the time, I didn't give two flying rodent-derrieres.

This is actually a little while after I'd already graduated but I don't have a lot of pictures from my actual senior year. I was anti-social.

I take that back, this is from mine and Matthew's ( @papafish88 ) junior year. We were partners for CSI. Before he FINALLY got the hint that I'd wanted him since Freshmen year, before we had a baby, got married, then had another baby.

Now, for the story of "Why Mommy is Grumpy". Last night we laid our sweet sweet angels down for bed, tucked them in, kissed them goodnight, and handed them off to the sandman. Well, our sweet angels decided that they weren't ready for bed and so decided to start monkeying around on their bunks. Normally they'll talk themselves to sleep or talk to themselves until they fall asleep but last night... oh, no.

I have decided to use visual aids to help tell the story without re-endangering the actual children. So... as you will see, Woody stands in the place of Isaak (the 3-year-old) and Buzz stands in the place of Aidan (the 5-year-old).

Buzz, who has the top bunk, was leaning over the side of his bed looking down at Woody. Woody decided to get out of his bed, stand on the frame, and reach up to give Buzz brotherly hugs... of doom. See here:

For reasons unknown to Daddy Zerg and Mommy Zerg, Woody, like a haus, pulled Buzz, by the neck, which resulted in them taking quite a tumble down and onto the unfortunately placed toy bin. Woody on the toys, and Buzz on Woody. See here:

Mommy and Daddy came to the rescue and helped patch them up. Woody came away with a sore mouth...

    (like that Angry Birds band-aid?!)

and Buzz came away with a very sore jaw.

They made up with hugs and kisses

Mommy and Daddy laid them back down for bed, again, and went off to their own slumbers. Before her head hit the pillow Mommy heard a cry. Buzz couldn't sleep because his jaw hurt. Mommy gave Buzz some Tylenol and an ice pack then headed off to bed again... it wasn't to last. In the end Mommy ended up having to move Buzz into the living room to sleep after he woke up a very cranky Woody a few times. Around 2 in the morning Mommy hears Woody and Buzz playing in the living room and laughing at He-Man on the TV. She lays them back down and goes to sleep. An hour later... she's up again and this time Daddy comes, too. Now, Woody and Buzz both know that you absolutely DO NOT wake Daddy Zerg in the middle of the night when he has to be up at 5. Needless to say, Daddy Zerg was very unhappy. Woody and Buzz, scared witless, finally went to bed. Daddy went to bed. Mommy sat down on her bed, turned off her lamp... and Jesse (Odelia, 8-months-old) began to cry.

Today they learned the hard way that a sleepy mommy makes for a very grumpy mommy and NO one wins when mommy is grumpy.

    Moral of the story :

Do NOT play on your bunk beds.
